Catfish can’t bite....but those waters often hold alligator snapping turtles, and noodlers have been known to lose a finger, or two..

Catfish can’t bite..
== = = = = = = = =
Point taken..... BUT .....My ‘short attention span’ - from the time I ‘read’ the article and got back here I used ‘bite down’ rather than ‘chomp down’..something to do with 1939 I guess...

Them ladies wrestlin’ and throwin’ them thar 72 lb cats around like kittens would almost make a ‘mortal man’ do most anything THEY wish.....<: <: <: Not that I wouldn’t try anyhow..

I'd be a little concerned with a Water Mocassin or two also. Having body parts under muddy murky water isn't risk free.

Yeah, they don’t bite per say. I once got stabbed by a catfish spike fin in my knee joint (went in the side behind kneecap). My leg swelled up so bad I could not bend it for almost a week and I ran a fever of 102. Nasty infection.
