There was a thread from a guy on FR saying the same thing. Makes me think it was coordinated by the agents of the GOPe to save their amnesty push.
The GOPe doesn't get it. I'm one of Sarah's biggest fans and have been since nearly a year before McCain selected her as his VP nominee. I respect her opinions, and when I disagree with her (which is relatively rare), I reevaluate my views logically in light of her reasoning. Despite all that, I do not blindly follow Sarah. If she's wrong, I'll say she's wrong, as I did when she backed RINO McCain for Senate and put personal loyalty ahead of patriotism. If she came out for Amnesty for criminals who entered our country illegally, that would not make me more amenable to Amnesty, not without a justification better than any I've heard articulated - and I'm confident that no such justification exists.
I'm a big fan of legal immigration. Congress should decide who should be permitted to enter the United States legally, and it should be a lot more than come legally today (balanced by no illegals at all due to border and employment enforcement). Those people should be able to come here safely and work here legally, while paying taxes as appropriate. Legal immigrants should have a path to citizenship, as they have always had. As for illegals, there is no situation in which crime should be rewarded. Illegals should be fingerprinted, DNA swabbed, deported, and permanently denied any path to legal immigration or to citizenship. Those who employ illegals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and fined enough to fund the full cost of broad and aggressive immigration enforcement. Crime shouldn't pay, not even in a country ruled by Obama.
