“I’d say the bird gets a ‘walk’, but then, I’m no Umpire...”

That pitch looked like it was over the plate, so the bird doesn’t get to take its base. Call it a strike on the bird, and the ball is dead (as is the bird).

Green Power Kills.

That would've NEVER happened at a coal-fired power plant.

With the enviros trying to co-opt every organization with any connection to nature, I figured that the Audubon Society would be a prime target. In particular, several weeks ago I became curious about how they would resolve the obvious quandary that this thread points out.

They have indeed been co-opted big-time. Check out their Climate Change Campaign—complete with super-cute polar bears cuddling.

Their official Audubon Statement on Wind Power states that they would very much appreciate it if wind turbines could be located so as to minimize kills (and they are "actively involved in wind-power siting issues"); but their bottom line is that "If we don't find ways to reduce these emissions, far more birds--and people--will be threatened by global warming than by wind turbines".

The last paragraph is a completely gratuitous pitch for wind power tax credits, which has nothing to do with the topic and makes the article look even more like something prepared by the wind power industry.
