Since the news of Madoff and his clones came out, Liz and I have bet his fleecing of his liberal buddies would eliminate many so called non profits, like this one.
With Madoff in charge the leftwingtards didn't have to husband resources, nor even pay much attention to proper money management for the trusts backing their captive organizations.
This is just one of many.
EXAMPLE Dozens of "investments" were setup for Ponzi King Madoff by self-styled California "philanthropist" Stanley Chais-----who collected zillions for Madoff via Chais' feeder fund.
Chais was later nailed for misrepresenting himself as a broker to these so-called Madoff "investors"---authorities found Chais was not a broker licensed to take investors' money.
Later it was found self-styled "philanthropist" Chais had collected a staggering $270 million between 1995-2008, and had been "donating" (read laundering/tax evasion) large sums to religious groups and other non-profits situated in Israel. Beneficiaries of the largess were the prestigious Weizmann Institute of Science---Technion-Israel Institute of Technology--Hebrew Univ of Jerusalem and other n/p's. Another Cali leftie non-profit was ripped off by conman Mouli Cohen---who supposedly had a deal w/ Microsoft (cue laugh machine). The leftist threw their lot in with Mouli who promised riches for their Marxist agenda.
When Miuli was sentenced to 22 years, the Cali judge said he had never seen a conman of the likes of Mouli....but then that judge never encountered the Chicago conmen in our WH
