A dog was shot and severely injured by a Leander [Texas] police officer Monday night after the officer attempted to serve a warrant at the wrong address, according to the dog’s owners and a statement from the Leander Police Department.

The dog, a German shepherd named Vinny that works as a therapy dog, was shot in the neck and is recovering at the home of his owners in Liberty Hill.[near Austin, TX]

Tragic.

Those who do not respect “the least” among God’s creatures will come to have little regard to the species made in His image.

Part of the Statist’s playbook-—intimidate the peasants so they do not dare rise up against the Lords of the Land and their servants the Knights of the Realm.

I agree with this.

Perhaps then they will be more careful with their dogs.

Clearly you are unaware that the Atlanta Journal Constitution must be excerpted on FR.

Ergo, not everything at the link can be posted here.

I sincerely hope he is regretful, but what man coming home with his dog would leave a “beloved” dog or a “beloved” partner *still in the vehicle*?

Are we to believe he didn’t see his dog when he exited his car? Didn’t hear him pant or bark?

it comes from the #1 rule in all police’departments today - ‘OFFICER SAFETY ABOVE ALL ELSE’. anytime officer feels threatened something gets shot. person, vehicle, animal, domicile, newspaper delivery truck.
*****************************************************************
And the #2 rule is now -— ‘OFFICERS’ FEELINGS ARE SACROSANCT’ anytime an officer feels offended or ‘dissed’ something gets shot or, at least tazed and roughed up.
