Needs another $2.65 million to avoid the sword.
On the other hand, the family has raised $1.07 million so far.
I would imagine the price will come down as the execution date gets closer. $1.07+ million is better than nothing.

Under Islamic law, which is strictly enforced in Saudi Arabia, a killer can escape execution and walk free if pardoned by the victim’s relatives in return for diya. Which means the clan's patriarch can order an "honor killing", and then order the killer pardoned by the relatives, and it will all be legal.
