Well I agree but they actually bought the house new in Antioch, which had already passed the tax to build new schools because the town was growing so fast, so they didn’t personally vote on it. So the realtor/seller sold them on the “temporary” tax for new schools. Personally I wouldn’t have bought it, a 1% tax on a $750K house (that eventually lost half its value when the bubble broke).
They got taken in lots of ways. It’s sad how many good people suffered because of government interference.
