The licensing program is more about education. It doesn’t cost anything to get a HAM call sign. If you don’t have one, you can’t use the spectrum, as you won’t have a call sign. It’s an international system, not specific to the US. It just happens to be managed by the FCC.

This story is fake. I live 1 mile from the tornado. Cell service was working until the tornado came through. It’s been hit and miss since then. My electric and land line service was restored a bit ago. Cell service is still hit and miss.

Cell service is overloaded right now. It is hit and miss. I’m one mile from ground zero
