Here’s the problem with that scenario.

If Bush were President, it would show the government is against Latinos. Because Obama is President, the media has to cool its criticism of the government. If you live in a state run by Democrats, the cops can kick your ass and you better like it.
It’s like the homeless problem. Because Obama is President, there are no homeless people.

Not really because these are constitutional issues.

The other part of this story is completely independent of whether that guy deserved to be beaten to death, and that is the issue of the police confiscating the phones.

This guy may have had the kind of attitude that gets some boxers killed in the ring. Most boxers know when they have had enough, and getting up from the mat will get them killed from one too many punches. But some of them are hard-wired to never give up - the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. So they get up again for the nth time before the referee finishes the count and end up in the morgue. All most suspects have to do to avoid being roughly handled during an arrest is to comply. Some people will not stop trying to punch, kick or elbow the cops until they're beaten unconscious. This guy may have fought a little too long.

"The other issue is that the deceased's ambulance chaser is making this guy out to be Parent of the Year,..."

That's not an issue, that's his job.

There are two important issues in this event. One, police killing an unarmed man. Witnesses said it was unjustified, but we don't really know. That will go through the process.

Two, police stealing phones from witnesses because they thought the incident was recorded. It doesn't matter was true about the first issue, the second is unacceptable, and isn't disputed.

That's got nothing to do with the police taking the phones.

Not really because these are constitutional issues.

The verdict on this issue may depend on who the judge is.

“delete” on digital devices doesn’t always mean “erase”. Sometimes it merely frees up the storage location but the data itself can easily be recovered.

Destruction of evidence of manslaughter would not look good at trial for the perps.
