Campus porn culture: a real “war on women”
live action ^ | Ashley Herzog

Posted on 05/16/2013 11:35:52 AM PDT by Morgana

If you’re not already following The College Fix, run by author and Yale alum Nathan Harden, you should be. It exposes the depraved, anti-woman atmosphere that dominates too many campuses.

I interviewed Harden last year, after the debut of his book, Sex and God at Yale: Porn, Political Correctness, and a Good Education Gone Bad. An entire section of Harden’s book is titled “Yale’s War on Women.”

He exposed how Yale women are constantly degraded on campus. They are valued for their looks, bodies, and sexual prowess – not their minds. They are often required to watch hardcore porn in class and encouraged to participate in “porn star lookalike” contests during “Sex Week,” the biggest event of the year. Yale has made headlines for a string of incidents involving fraternities, in which young men marched around campus chanting, “No means yes, yes means anal” and carried signs declaring, “We love Yale sluts.” This hostile, threatening environment eventually brought Yale under federal investigation for gender discrimination.

Now Nathan manages The College Fix, which reports on all universities, not just Yale. His group of campus reporters has uncovered a real war on women – and it’s being waged by sexual liberationists who control the academy.

A few weeks ago, The College Fix broke a story about a Pasadena College class “devoted entirely to porn. Students are actually assigned to watch porn as part of the class homework.”

The most revealing quote was from a female student, who admitted to being uncomfortable with porn before being groomed to accept it as normal: “My view of pornography before taking this class was more the traditional view that it was not meant for me, as a woman… After, or in the midst of taking this class, I’ve become much more accepting of it and understanding of it.”

This woman probably felt that porn was “not meant for her” for a good reason. As The College Fix notes, the scenes shown in class included women being called “b—-,” “whore,” and worse.

Is it any surprise that cases of sexual misconduct on campuses have reached an all-time high?

“We have seen an increase in the number of high-profile cases of sexual assault and harassment on college campuses,” Nathan told me during our interview. “Unfortunately, many on the academic left who bemoan the hostile sexual environment on our campuses are the same people who have done the most to create that hostile environment. They have embraced moral relativism. They have told students that their sex lives should be considered free of moral consequence, so long as everything is ‘consensual.’”

But in an environment like this, the boundaries of consent begin to break down. Students – who face enormous peer pressure to participate in this free-for-all – have trouble saying “no” when they want to. Other students simply don’t respect a “no.”

Needless to say, students are also indoctrinated to accept abortion as “no big deal.” In 2008, a Yale student named Aliza Shvarts became pregnant several times, self-aborted with herbs, collected the bloody results in a jar, and called it “performance art.” Yale and Shvarts issued long-winded, pseudo-intellectual defenses of this “art,” which Shvarts later claimed was a hoax. To me, the project had an obvious goal: to trivialize abortion.

And they say conservatives and Republicans are the ones waging a “war on women”! In reality, your chances of being sexually harassed and degraded are much higher on a college campus than at, say, the Values Voters Summit.

“Most universities today are run by leftist ideologues and free-love social revolutionaries left over from the sixties,” Nathan told me. “The hyper-sexual culture has led to a me-first brand of sexuality, where the feelings, the well-being, and even the consent of others is disregarded in an all-out pursuit of getting ‘what I want, when I want it.’”

This is bad news for women, and it’s got to stop.

For God’s sake people.... Save your money and send your kids to a vocational and community college.

Read the book and I recommend it! Particularly for libertarians who don’t think conservatives should talk about social issues.

If Bill Clinton gets wind of this, I think we’ll be hearing about him returning to his alma matter either to enroll or teach or tutor.

It exposes the depraved, anti-woman atmosphere

They are valued for their looks, bodies, and sexual prowess

If they are valued, how is the atmosphere "anti-woman"?

Everyone should go to college, because they should.

Any questions?

Yale offers an excellent education and excellent degree programs - but you have to be selective on what classes you take. Any girl who takes a class that includes viewing porn should not be surprised at the content of that course. If you major in Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, or any other frivolous major, you’re probably in deep trouble, but that won’t surprise anyone sensible.

How are the Yale dykes behaving? Are they exploiting the women too?

Any wonder why colleges are diligent about keeping guns off campus? If every woman on campus was armed, these pigs trying to rape a woman because “No means yes, yes means anal,” would be shot to death and justifiable homicides on campuses around the US would skyrocket. That goes against the sexually promiscuous nature of colleges today.

I’m not sure what’s happened in the last 15 years, but when I was in college, this was NOT the attitude. We were encouraged to visit the student health center for free condoms and STD tests, but we were NEVER forced to watch pornography; and I never once saw a parade of men advocating rape. Sure you’d get your occasional fraternity prankster running nude through the student union, but he didn’t try to rape anyone.

Alicia Gali was raped by three men in Dubai and spent eight months in jail for reporting it. The war on women is not in America. Everyone can read the course descriptions and take charge of their own educations. No one is ‘required’ to do this kind of stuff.

Dubai handles this stuff worse than we do.
Therefore, America is perfect.
And suggesting that our country is in moral decline ist verboten?

Admittedly I don’t know how common it is, but I’ve seen some college “frat initiation” videos that involved a heck of a lot of young men doing a heck of a lot of homosexual things to each other.

He's always thought that young women deserve proper rearing.

No, there is no war on women in America. No one is forcing them to take these courses. No one has the right to not be offended.

“If they are valued, how is the atmosphere “anti-woman”?”

More like anti-ugly-women.

But seriously, what do they expect from today’s 18-20yo fratboys who grew up with our godless media, sex-sells advertisements, ‘lad mags’ and unlimited porn? It’s a culture of ignorance, emptiness and worse-than-animal behavior.

Most girls at that age are just as stupid and empty today. They end up chasing a few “hot guys” who bed several girls every day. No conversation, no character, no love. Just banging and using each other like animals.

Most parents are clueless. They have no idea they are saving up all their lives to pay their enemies to educate their children.

My kids went to conservative Christian high school and colleges, except for one who went into the Marines instead. I’ve no regrets.

You’re exactly right ClearCase_guy. This is why I have little hope of America being turned around or saved. Our really big problem is a moral one - but most, even here on freerepublic, don’t want to broach that subject. Almost all “solutions” to turn our nation around that are offered are political or economic ones. And, yes, those are needed but not of first importance. Immoral individuals that do not honor God’s laws and principals (mostly regarding our relationship to him and then to our fellow man) will not be able to withstand the pressures and temptations that come with being in public life/service and will fail just like those out there now have. We need a wisdom that comes from a higher plane. Returning to being a more moral nation takes a real encounter with one’s Creator, a humble heart and a teachable spirit. We aren’t within a million miles of being interested in that. We have little in common with those that founded our nation. The locus of control is more and more from without than restraint from within. When was the last real religious revival in America that helped to change our culture? You have to go back 100 years or more. Billy Graham is supposed to be planning one last crusade (though he probably won’t call it a “crusade”). Watch what happens. He, of course, is very old now but I’m sure he will be ignored, ridiculed and labeled as one of the original hate mongers of our nation - or worse. Leading up to and after the first Gulf War, people returned briefly to churches for a time. Same thing happened after 9/11 but it didn’t last and had almost no effect. I am afraid we are ripe for God’s judgement. It may not be hell fire and brimstone pouring out of the sky. It most likely will be the continued slide of a nation that is truly lost and directionless into greater confusion, depravity and collapse - Detroit comes to mind as does Great Britian. When you abandon God’s absolutes you are open to believe anything. The battle cry of the last 30 yrs. goes something like this, “You can’t tell me what to believe. No one is going to put their morality on me.” How wrong they are. They don’t realize that they are giving up one form of control (loving my Creator and neighbor as myself keeps me from doing certain types of things and encourages me to do other helpful and beneficial things) for control from outside the individual - traffic cameras, license plate scanners, intrusive IRS questions, and finally that knock on the door at 3:00 a.m. Obama and his admin. and others like them are doing a great job of it. By the time the majority see it it will be too late to do anything about it. The noose will be set the water will be boiling. Yet, God is still merciful and with him there is still the opportunity for individuals to turn and repent. But as a nation, it’s hard to have happy thoughts about our future.
