The Queen Mother lived to 100. Elizabeth is 87 and healthy as a horse. No one wants Charles as monarch but a large number hope to see the crowning of King Harry.
Including his grandmother.
Charlie might want to thank the corporate lobbyists for representing corporations that provide the money that allows him to sit on his ass while raking in the dough and pretending to be someone who matters.

No she doesn’t. Those rules are laid down in the latest constitution of Great Britain. She certainly could abdicate in favor of the next in line, but that certainly would be a mistake. Charles could defer to his son, which he should do.
I’m of the opinion that the Queen should hang on till the end, which she’s indicated she’ll do. This blood line lives a long time on average, excluding her sister who smoked 4 packs a day and her father who did likewise. Edward the VII smoked twenty cigars a day along with many cigarettes during the last several years of his life and lived to about 69. Other than that they live longer than the average life span.
There’s never going to be a crowning of King Harry, he’s all but eliminated with the birth of William’s daughter, (unless a disaster befalls William and his daughter before they have a second child). The British constitution lays down who is next in line, it’s never up to the reigning monarch to decide who can succeed them.
Besides, the country surely wouldn’t want a “ginger” for a monarch.
Don’t know all the royal nuances either, but fact remains that Elizabeth is respected, Harry is well-liked, & Charles is neither.
Remember the Duke of Windsor? Bit of an odd duck like Charles, the public wouldn’t have him & his golddigging paramour near the throne either. His abdication required his brother to become King, which Elizabeth believed led to her father’s early death, by which she became Queen.
A restored Crown and respected crowned head of state can be very useful to national unity & purpose. It’s worked well for Spain. Even the Germans are looking into bringing back one of the Hohenzollern descendants.

What is with all the prejudice against red hair? Is it a form of Irishphobia? Here in the South “ginger” or “gingercake” often refers to light-skinned blacks, especially those with freckles or green eyes.

Well I was merely jesting about the “ginger” thing, but I’d guess that it’s just a temporary cultural anomaly, where making fun of “gingers” is hip and cool according to the chat show hosts and comedians. It really doesn’t matter anyway as Harry is out of the line of succession and beyond that it’s a figurehead position which is merely a tourist attraction when they’re not having meaningless teas with real heads of state.
It is my sincere hope that Queen Elizabeth outlives Prince Charles. Charles is a total loser. Prince Harry or Prince William would do far better as King; Charles not so much.
I think that spot is permanently assigned to al gore.
