In fact, my mother is buried in one...and would have to be moved if my dad decides not to be buried in same Natl Cemetary (Dad a retired Army officer).

Being a veteran of two whole years does not automatically guarantee you a spot at Arlington. You must have exemplary service to be buried at Arlington because of the lack of room.

One would think, but the story says that her husband is buried there, so there's probably a reg that says she's entitled to the plot next to him. I seriously doubt, however, that anyone can sell or give away their plot, but considering the times....
