A pro-life Catholic group will hold a memorial service tomorrow to give names to the babies killed via late-term abortions and infanticides at the Kermit Gosnell abortion clinic.
Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, told LifeNews today about his plans. As he mentions, he has requested the actual bodies of the babies victimized in the abortion-infanticides at Gosnell and his staffs hands.
As we await the verdict in the trial of Kermit Gosnell, Priests for Life, which has requested from the Medical Examiner the bodies of the babies retrieved from Gosnells clinic so that a funeral and burial can be arranged, will take the step this week of giving names to those babies, Pavone said.
Pavone continued: On Wednesday, we will have a memorial service, which we will make available online, in which we will acknowledge the human dignity and personhood of these children, and bestow names upon them. God has entrusted the lives of all of us to one another. Though a father or mother may forsake the child, that does not give us permission to do so. We claim these children as our brothers and sisters.
Previously, Pavone said he wanted the bodies of the babies after the all of the court proceedings are finished. He wants a proper burial of the remains of 45 babies killed by the abortion practitioner and his abortion clinic staff.
These are not just medical waste. These are human bodies real human being were killed, Pavone said. There are two reasons here: One, to properly honor these children of course who have been dishonored by what Gosnell did. And secondly, to alert the public and to raise the consciousness that we are talking about real killings here.
Pavone said the medical examiner said he would get back to him about the request.
Pavone has also asked the judge to meet with Gosnell if he would be willing to talk to him.
Depending upon what year it was, the parent can claim the child as a dependent as long as it was born alive. Doesn’t matter if the baby died 1 second later it is still a tax deduction for that year. Too bad the statute of limitations is 3 yrs!
If the authorities put the babies' bodies in a Hefty bag and tossed them in a landfill, there are some whose only moral concern would be whether the plastic was biodegradable.
I still can’t wrap my mind around the magnitude of the evil that took place in that building.
