Thank you, Luvie!

I almost posted this one, but changed my mind.

Prayer is ALL we can do with all of DC scared to death
to get in front of a mic
and tell the TRUTH about everything
that is going on in this administration,
and esp. with the
squatters in the WH!

Beautiful Meg, snowy graphics again! Amazing weather and just ruining our lovely spring time. Suppose to be in the 40’s here tonight and the wind is awful. You are about 5 hours north of me so it’s worse for you. We did have 3 1/2 inches of rain this past week, and that was a blessing.

((HUGS)) to all of you!

We didn’t get a drop of rain and haven’t since the first part of January.

I kind of like it cooler. It was nearly 90 yesterday and it’s way too early for that. Summer will be here soon enough without rushing things. :)

I used to love summer before we had so many 100+ days and the drought. Ugh! :)

Good to hear from you! :)

Like you, we hadn’t had rain in ages, but last Sunday we had 2inches and on Tuesday we had another 1 1/2inch. It was a blessing as even our Live Oak trees needed it.

I hope you get some soon Luv. I hate the winter and the cold really bothers me. I even have a tower heater that I keep near my computer. My old house is large and drafty - even with the central heat going. - and I am just getting older and feeling it more, lol.

Always nice to ‘see’ you too!

I am very cold natured and keep the heat AND the AC fairly high. But I think the extreme heat of summer that doesn’t allow us to even enjoy going outside after dark has become oppressive to me. I would love to move somewhere that the temp never gets below 35 or above 85. In other words, paradise...and I doubt if it exists here on this earth. LOL!

This too shall pass. :)

I agree about the extreme heat in the summer, but I mostly just stay inside when it gets that bad. I used to go to festivals, etc, all the time on weekends but no longer enjoy it. I have a lot of acreage around my house so there is almost always a breeze.

Hey, Potlatch! Good to see you! I haven’t been online too much, but it is always good to check in and get a ping from a FRiend!

It has been VERY windy up here in the High Desert, too - winds gusting up to 40 mph. I’m glad I have a good sturdy leash for my pup - or she would blow away.

I guess that is why they call it “Small Dog Warning”, whenever there is going to be heavy wind. “Put your small dog on a chain, if you don’t want it to blow away.” LOL!

Lol, that’s funny Yorkie. I always go outside with my little Piper, but when it’s real cold I stand inside the glass storm-door and watch him from there. It’s so funny watching him walk down the long driveway with all his fur blowing like crazy - but he doesn’t seem to mind.

Hope you and your puppy are doing well Yorkie. I’ve lost a lot of interest in posting with all the constant bad news and people are getting angry and mean, lol. Just looking at Drudge headlines is enough to ruin your day!!

Take care my friend. (HUGS) I’m heading for bed........

Momma’s Rules

May 3, 2013

I met a delightful woman named “Momma Charlie,” who has raised a dozen or so foster kids. These youngsters were assigned to her by the courts, and she gave them a home with stability, guidance, and love. She told me that every time a new child arrived, the first order of business was to explain “Momma’s Rules.” These included behavioral standards, plus chores that would provide much-needed help in the busy household while teaching accountability to kids with little previous training.

Some of the children may have balked at “Momma’s Rules,” thinking they were robbing them of fun or pleasure—yet nothing would be further from the truth. Those standards allowed for an orderly household where both Momma and the children could find life enjoyable and peaceful.

Similarly, some look at the standards God set forth in the Bible as obstacles that prevent us from enjoying life. However, the boundaries God places actually protect us from our worst inclinations and foster healthy responses to Him.

In Ephesians 4, for example, Paul provides some guidance for how we are to live. As we live by these and other loving instructions from God, we find protection and the opportunity for true, lasting joy.

Father, thank You for the boundaries of life that
protect us from sin and from ourselves. Give us
the wisdom and grace to respond gratefully to
Your Word in areas of danger and temptation.
God’s Word is the compass that keeps us on course.

Read: Ephesians 4:17-32

Put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt. —Ephesians 4:22

1 Kings 14-15; Luke 22:21-46
