Why would you go to all that trouble when they have a fuse already ?

Besides, how does this ‘radio control’ plan work when the receiver is locked inside a THICK STEEL PAN ?

If they ‘took delivery’ from a third party there are no guarantees, hence the way they walked. But yeah, like in model rocketry ~ where you need to get out of the line of fire.

I watched a lot of CNN that way. Never could get them to change the channel. Although, Robin Meade is pretty easy to look at while you have your headphones in with the Helmet and Pantera going...

From the photos I saw, it looked like common R/C model controllers were used.

Or... the RC controllers were in the backpack to cover other things in case of a 'casual search' by security. Or they were there to keep the public from knowing just how simple this whole thing was.

Solder your antenna wire to the lid. Easy.

I was lucky enough to see Ted Nugent burn Erin Burnett over Eric Holder.

From what I have read the terrorists used RC car receivers.

There are pictures of fragments of the ICs and batteries taken at the scene.

Apply Occam’s razor here.

Its one thing to wish it were Obamaphones but the truth is it was just what you say it is, common cheap New Bright brand possibly RC toys you can buy anywhere anytime.

I bought a simple RC controller and car from Radio shack about 8 years ago and I use it to operate a conveyor belt and rotational chute at a concrete batch plant, I still use the RC car remote in the loader so the operator doesn’t have to get out of the loader to turn on or off the belt.

You cannot ban all pressure cookers, nor can you regulate all the available RC toys and frequencies.

You can ban the culture from America, and THAT is what we need to do, even if it rests solely upon each and every citizen, personally I would draft this along into the Constitution.

Its Islam all the way, given the opportunity all Muslims regardless will go jihad, its inevitable.

Persistent rumor where?? This is the first I’ve heard of it.

I think the idea is that this needs to become a persistent rumor.

this is where Kerry gets to say, what difference does it make, during the hearing that will go nowhere.

I don’t think it’s really a persistent rumor.

a 2.4ghz RX with a 1/2 mile range has a 1” long antenna. the RX can be on the ouside of the bomb and the wires go through a .032” hole drilled in the case to the detonator.

These guys were a couple blocks max from the bombs... easily within the range of the cheapest 1/10 scale RX car electronics.

Its a good thing most terrorists aren’t too sharp, because it doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a lot of money to build an RC bomb.

A 20 model 2.4Ghz RC TX can be bought for $60, meaning someone could theoretically bind 20 different $6 RX’s to 1 TX and blow up each separately. I’m confident there is a Prepper out there right now with 20 RC Claymores on his property.

I know, I saw them.

Apply Occam’s razor here.

I did just that. These 'mortar shells' already have a 'fuse' in them. Why not use it?

Now... if we make the assumption that the devices were 'set off' by someone other than the boys (whose job was to place and 'enable' the bomb), then it would make more sense.

If the brothers did this with a remote control, where is it ?

There were two different 'cards, IIRC. Shouldn't there be only one in the bomb ? Many other posters were saying this 'card' was from the transmitter of an RC toy. That makes no sense.

For these reasons, I am skeptical of the RC detonation.

Because it’s harder to light a fuse in the middle of a crowd than it is to just push a remote button.

That should be self evident. I know everyone has their pet theories... but damn...

Oh,,, no reason to argue with that. But is there any video evidence, or witness testimony of someone pushing the buttons on a RC Controller ? Has any such device been found ?

Is there any video evidence of a possible perp bent over a black backpack for a few moments, at the bomb site ?

I can believe that an RC toy was used to set off an 'ignitor' used as a detonator for some kind of explosives, but why risk a premature explosion because some kid was playing with a RC MICRO CHOPPER in a toy store nearby ?

I also wonder why these Muslims didn't want to die for their cause, which would give favor to the RC concept, only because it would give them more safety distance.
