In the WV mine wars, USAAC droped bombs against armed US civilians. George Washington led an army of state militias against US civilians during the Whiskey Reellion. The past is prelude.
Oh, and I left out MacArthur, Eisenhower, Patton and the US Army vs the US civilian veterans of the Bonus Army.
