he does in fact strongly dislike some Republicans but he did support what's his name last year. Long before he ran for president, Romney proved to be a surprisingly quick-witted guest on Imus's show. It would not surprise me if they were friends.
Regarding Imus and politics, let's remember the glub-glub-glub sound effect that Imus always played whenever he mentioned Ted Kennedy. I'm sure it lost Imus some liberal fans.

One of Imus' favorite long-time guests is none other than Pat Buchanan.
Laura Ingraham has now come back on a regular basis, too. Something happened a while back that got her very upset with him, but they apparently mended fences.
