As investigators continue to delve into the background of the man arrested in recent rapes in the Lake Highlands area, residents began to exhale Wednesday after more than a month of fear.
“I have felt terrorized,” said Erin Morgan, who lives less than a mile from two of the three houses where attacks occurred. “I have lost sleep. I have added on additional layers of security to my home and thought through scenarios that I didn’t want to spend any time thinking through.”
Police say Cesar Benitez confessed to three attacks on women within about a quarter-mile of each other between Feb. 22 and March 19.
On Wednesday, he was charged in the last of those cases, which occurred in the 8700 block of Aldwick Drive. His charge in that one is burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault.
He was charged with sexual assault in the other two cases on Tuesday. Both of those crimes occurred on Ferndale Road, police say.
Also on Wednesday, Benitez had a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold placed on his case, meaning the agency suspects that he is in the country illegally.
Police have said that Benitez may have been preparing to return to Mexico at the time of his arrest.

These rapes started almost exactly the same time that the thousands of illegals were released by DHS! First stories surfaced on 2/25 that they had been recently released, rapes started 2/22.
Think someone should be looking into where he was at early in February?
Those Illegal Aliens that broke the US Border laws by crossing the Rio Grande River into TEXAS are to be called WETBACKS.
All the other border criminals are just Illegal Aliens that the Feds have purposefully allowed to invade our Republic.

Oh, but Miss Morgan! Wasn't it worth it for the wonderful, exciting, vibrant diversity that this undocumented American brought? How could you be so racist and selfish as to complain? He only came here for a better life...a better sex life, that is.
