Over Easter weekend, franchise quarterback Tony Romo signed a 6-year $108 million contract extension to remain with the Dallas Cowboys. While the estimated $18 million per year makes Romo the fifth highest paid player based on salary, he is actually the new highest paid player after taxes in the NFL.
The Cowboys QB now claims the top spot previously held by Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints because of no state income tax in Texas. With Romos income tax burden being 39.6 percent the top marginal federal income tax rate in the U.S. and estimated tax liability of $7.12 million, he still stands to earn $752,000 more than Brees.

Romo used to have enough balls and good decision making to run the football for a first down when he needed to. Now maybe perhaps he lacks the right decision making, if not the former.
Dallas won’t win the Super Bowl with Tony Romo at QB unless of course Romo finds a way to get a lot better.
Dallas has so many holes, they wouldn’t win a SB with Tom Brady.
