I like Colbert and often find his antics funny. I’m a Christian and am pretty sure Jesus had/has a great sense of humor, but it does distress me when Colbert is described as a practicing Catholic, yet takes God’s name in vain during his schtick. That is off limits.

Let's see the brave little man poke fun at the muslims. His act is old and tired the same as Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz.

A quote from his wikipedia page:

Colbert prefers, however, that his children not watch his show The Colbert Report, saying that "kids can't understand irony or sarcasm, and I don't want them to perceive me as insincere."

I know of liberal kids who believe that he is offering the God's honest truth.

Read the Bible, don't watch 'The Bible'.

I think Colbert is guilty of some “Big Shrimpin’”

Colbert has stated in the past that he feels no religious concern to his humor.

There's a little thing called the Judgement in which we kneel before Gods Throne. At that point there, his religious concern might reach heights he's only imagined.

Any time I hear someone say, “OMG” I like to ask, which one is that?

“Colbert also poked some fun at Diogo Morgado, who was casted to play Jesus Christ. Colbert referred to him as “a beefcake Jesus.”

“Their Jesus is way too hot. It does not project holiness when you cannot look at him without saying ‘God damn!’” said Colbert.”

From Hamlet 2....

Rock me, rock me, rock me sexy Jesus
We’re really amazed
You gotta believe us
Rock me, rock me, rock me sexy Jesus
All night long
He lays down science, it really blows my mind
But he’s also got abs that transcend space and time
He’s the son of God and I think that’s cool
But he’s got swimmer’s bod like nobody do
Rock me, rock me, rock me sexy Jesus
He died for our sins
You gotta believe us

Obviously Colbert’s biblical knowledge is so limited that he does not know (perhaps doesn’t care) that Jesus never got to be ‘old and pot bellied’ having been crucified in his very early thirties. And, it is hard to get pot bellied if you are walking EVERYWHERE you go and not riding everywhere in a limo, or on a proletarian subway train, bus, or taxi.

The Comedy Channel is systematically destroying the Republican Party among young voters. The GOP clearly has no answer - nor any clear idea how badly it is being hurt. A lot of younger people don’t really like Obama, but voted for him anyway because they believe the media’s GOP caricatures.

If people like Colbert were truly cutting edge, he would have a skit about Mohammed running a Day Care Center.

If the pendulum swung both ways I’d have no trouble with his comments. It’s the unchecked hypocrisy I can’t stand.
