A clerk grabbed a robber’s shotgun during a struggle Wednesday night and the robber fled without getting any cash.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., a man walked into the Rushmere Food Mart at 4761 Old Stage Hwy. and pointed the shotgun at the clerk, who grabbed it, according to a news release from the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.
The clerk gained control of the shotgun during the struggle and the robber fled the store. No one was hurt.
The gunman’s description was vague, but the release said he has a medium build and wore a black sweatshirt with a hood, face mask and gloves.

Well they should be able to track the serial number on the shotgun because we all know criminals buy their guns legally, right?
Just for information, Isle of Wight County is about as rural as it gets in this part of VA. Good deer hunting there.
The gunman's description of what was vague?
And had the store owner done that in New Jerk City or Taxachusetts, he would have immediately been arrested for illegal possession of a weapon, with the state giving clemency to the perp for testifying against the owner.
