I may be flamed here... but at the age of 15, my daughters got Implanon. Two so far. Neither has had problem with it. Neither has acted out (ok, my newly 15 year old has had a late bloomer “You can’t tell me what to do MOTHER!” streak, but is normal for teenage daughters). I figure that if we can prevent the “I DIDN’T MEAN TO MOMMY!” accident/pro-life/adoption/oh my god drama, why not???

I never forced them, I just explained that this is WISDOM and taking advantage of awesome technology. And condoms exist for a reason, so USE THEM.

I’m sure I will get some “MY KIDS WOULD NEVER!” and that is also how many a shotgun wedding happened from when time began until now. But I told my kids from when they were old enough to understand how babies were made... we live in an age WHEN THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ‘OOPS, I’M PREGNANT’ AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!

Personally, I'd rather have a new grandchild than treat my daughter like a dog in heat.

I hope you don’t get flamed. Only you and your family know best how to cope with this miserable society we live in.

I’m sure that any of your daughters that becomes afflicted with teenage stupidity will mature and outgrow it. And they’ll outgrow it without having a lifelong “souvenir” fathered by some slimy creature—a slimy creature that, later in life, she would not trust to correctly change her car’s oil.

Are you under the impression that all these single mothers are having accidents?

If so, you a naive. The government doesn’t set you up with housing, food, and spending money if you are just a single woman. You need to have children and the more the better. A husband is also problematic with regard to getting your entitlements.

Most of these females start mating to get pregnant when they decide to leave home and set up their own domicile. Think of it as a career move or as a coming of age tradition.

What does your husband have to say on the subject of his 15 year old daughters getting laid and using birth control?
