Florida Gulf Coast University has shocked the nation by staging two massive upsets in the NCAA men's basketball tournament and becoming the first 15-seed team ever to reach the Sweet Sixteen round.

Little-known FGCU beat San Diego State 81-71 on Sunday night, its second NCAA tournament upset of the weekend. Just like in their opening win over second-seeded Georgetown - the Eagles' calling card to the nation - there were plenty of laughs, dunks and dances.

I am constantly amazed at the breadth of coverage of things American by this online “paper” and especially news items that are not, and won’t be, covered by the US media. This one is a surprise though.

I did go for Florida over OSU and UCLA the years they won back-to-back Championships.

I’ve got Louisville, Ohio State, Indiana and Florida in the Final Four, with Indiana winning it all. Going into Sweet 16, this scenario is still possible.

FGCU has at least three really strong players.

They were deeply under-ranked. In what universe is FGCU seeded 15 and Harvard is 14?

Anyway, they’re fun to watch.
