An Indiana teenager is accused of stabbing his father in the chest because he told him to pull up his pants.
Cody Burns, from New Albany, faces a charge of battery by means of a deadly weapon after the Tuesday incident.
According to a probably cause affidavit, Burns became enraged after his father, who hasn't been named, suggested he pull up his pants, which he was presumably wearing low in a fashion that revealed his underpants.
The 18-year-old then walked into the kitchen and returned to the living room with a knife in his hand, police said.
According to his father, Burns came at him and stabbed him in the left side of his chest.
When officers arrived, they noticed blood on the floor where the victim was sitting.
The injuries to the victim were not life threatening.
He was taken to a local hospital but is recovering.
Another person at the home witnessed the alleged stabbing and supported the victim's statement, according to the affidavit.

I would hate to think what I would have done to my son if he had ever raised a hand to me or his mother.
he never did, because we raised him with discipline but love.
Something was missing in this family. probably the love.
The proper use of a belt, Think about it
We seriously need to bring back the “woodshed”.
These are the guys the Republicans want to keep away from guns ~ the Democrats don't care. They'd rather disarm mentally stable lawabiding individuals.
some kinds of stupid just don’t seem to get any better
At 18? Proper use of a fist.
Once I spatted back to my Mother, not only do I have little recollection of what transpired (physically, yes I deserved it), the additional punishment was not to watch ‘Davie Crockett’, I was marched into my room to sit while she and my siblings watched it.
My Mom had the sound just high enough so I could hear muddled words but nothing clearly, and every now and then she would say, “nice episode, to bad we all can’t watch”.
She was a disciplinarian extraordinaire, and I miss her so, I knew she loved me.
This is the feel good story of the day.
Entitlement society creates its own sociopaths...lacking a conscience is much more common in this world than schizophrenia. And in the liberal world where there is no right or wrong...no evil...why not kill those who stand in your way. It's not wrong, is it?
I would forgive my son... and wish him well as he learns to pay rent.
He's the right age too.
I will defer to your judgment here.

Much respect for you hard work from this end.;-)
I don’t mean my comment to be flippant. After many years of lurking, I have much respect for you opinion...and you have earned every ounce of it.
Having known a couple of young people show up with the condition I read a lot about it ~ nothing in the story suggests earlier mental health issues ~ now that we know it’s almost certainly genetic, even without knowing the specific mechanism whereby the genes get involved...... well, maybe we do know the method. Did you catch the discussion the other day at: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2999130/posts ~ this was about how a single molecular switch flips an adolescent brain into an adult brain ~
I didn’t catch it but will read it now...thx.
I’m guessing there were signs this 18 yr old wasn’t going on to college or vocational school.
Parents need to put out the sign, long before the kid turns 17, that they need to start figuring out what they’re going to do by the time they turn 18.
Because it’s either “rent and my rules” or “hit the road Jack!”
If the parents haven’t provided the incentive, don’t expect the kid to grow any motivation.
Another enzyme thing ~ enjoy
So you really believe this kid is mentally ill and not just rebelling against his dad?
