One thing about mushroom hunting that always bothered me is the fact that some of the most frequent victims of accidental mushroom poisoning have been mycologists!

I stick to the ones I know, but there is one risky one that I MUST eat each September.

It is far too good to pass up.

The Saffron Milk Cap.
I cannot resist them.

I definitely stick to the ones I know too. Not familiar with that one although I see it is listed as occurring in N. America. I know there are a couple of other edible shrooms in my region but I haven't tried them. I am certain I had several Horse Mushrooms right here in my yard last summer but I wouldn't do it. Just couldn't.

I have Destroying Angels in my yard almost every year. I also had three excellent specimens of Aspen Scabers in the yard last summer. First time ever. Also some recurring Puffball Mushrooms.
