Is this show any good?
I like it. It’s a show about a zombie apocalypse, so it can be pretty violent. It’s based on a comic book series, although you do not need to have read the comics to watch the TV show. The TV show does deviate from the comics in some ways.
My daughter and I caught up on Netflix and watched season 3. It is great.
2nd best show on. 1st is Breaking Bad.
If you have Amazon Prime or Netflix, you can check out the first few seasons. I didn’t think I’d like it, but I do. I don’t care for the comic book zombie gore stuff, but the cast is great and the character interactions keep the show going. You care about what’s going to happen to the characters; always a sign of a good show.
It's relative, but...
It's (currently) the only weekly show I do not miss.
The first season was very good. (The DVDs are available at Walmart for around $20).
From what I've read, the budget for season 2 was cut. I considered season 2 to be a bit of a snoozer. (But still better than 90% of what's on TV.)
Season 3 (current) is very, very good. Of course, there are only 3 episodes left.
BTW The show has a continuous storyline. I.E. It isn't a bunch of stand-alone episodes, with a different adventure each week. Each episode is a chapter in the story. If you haven't followed it from the beginning, you may be left scratching your head.
LOL, yes it is. Neither my hubby or I were fans of the "zombie" genre; but, we were bored one summer night and The Walking Dead's first season was on Netflix. I had heard it was very good, so I suggested we try it. Hubby looked at me like I had completely lost my mind; but, we tried it; and, we are now hooked.
If you have Netflix, you should try to catch up with what is going on. You could try to just jump in; but, this has a lot of backstory at this point, so you might find it hard to follow.
There is a lot of gore; but, there is also a very character-driven story that gets you hooked.
Coming in late here....to answer your original question, yes, it’s the best thing on TV, IMO.
Also, a lot of folks will tell you season #2 was too slow, but I actually loved it (oh, the farm, LOL).
