Tonight, midnight EDT. Australia first practice, NBC Sports (channel 220 - DirecTV)
Minor threadjack- anyone here going to be at Sebring? Hit me with a Freepmail if so, I’m about 10 miles from the gate.
and i hope that DeltaWing thing don't tip over
I made fun of that thing all day at Petite Le Mans last Fall, but by the end of the race, I had to admit it was pretty darn fast.
it must be a steep learning curve
Watching practice right now and away we go into the 2013 season!!
Red Bull leads the way, by a large amount. Lewis looks like he made a great move.
Don’t worry, they’ll build a new car to suit the #1 driver and screw Nico in the process. :-)
Have you used www.vipbox.tv
with no problems?
I’m a sceptic probably without good reasons
—just careful where I go on wonderful web.
let's see how NBC sports handles the coverage
Qualifying delayed until Sunday morning
Qualifying at Albert Park has been postponed until race day amid persistent rainfall, with Q2 and Q3 yet to run. The start of the second grid-deciding phase had been put back on numerous occasions until the looming sunset forced a delay, with the action set to resume at 11am local time (GMT +11) tomorrow morning.
Saturday's opening qualifying session was disrupted before the action had even begun, with race control announcing a trio of ten minute delays following heavy rain showers. Once the action got underway and after a number of lead changes, Nico Rosberg set the initial pace to end Q1 four tenths ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.
There were a number of incidents during the session, with Lewis Hamilton narrowly avoiding a premature exit after spinning between Turns 1 and 2. Felipe Massa and Giedo van der Garde also suffered early troubles, losing their respective front wings after contact with the barriers. The biggest drama came in the late stages, however, when Charles Pic and Esteban Gutiérrez crashed in the second sector at almost the same moment, bringing out the yellow flags and effectively ending the session early.
After Q1, in which Pastor Maldonado, Gutiérrez, Jules Bianchi, Max Chilton, Giedo van der Garde and Charles Pic were eliminated from the running, there was a wait of around two hours before race control ultimately decided to halt proceedings. Increasing showers and the upcoming sunset ultimately posed too much of an issue.
The last time Formula 1 witnessed a qualifying delay was at the Japanese Grand Prix in 2010, when monsoon conditions hit Suzuka and forced the track to be closed.
Sunday's delayed qualifying session in Melbourne gets underway at 11am local time (GMT +11) and can be tracked via the GPUpdate.net Live Report feature
Sebring, for anybody interested... http://www.vipbox.tv/motorsports/142868/1/american-le-mans-series-racing:-12-hours-of-sebring-live-stream-online.html
Any news if NBC will cover Q2 and Q3 live?
“i only use the live streams and did not need to download any software/program to watch “
Thanks. I just tried Sebring, and successfully used the “yycast” option which is FoxSports live.
For the GP there appear to be five or six options.
Is the race at 11 pm PDST tonight (Sat.), PDST or 2 am EDST (Sun.)?
With SPEED, you knew what to expect.
Will NBC follow suit?
I waited til 1:30 pm (ET) to watch the rebroadcast of the qualifying rounds, which didn’t happen. No announcement, no nothing.
Just U.S. Football.
This is gonna be a long season for me...
I found it on my Fios television list, channel 90 NBC Sport, which used to be Vevo, and played some good sports stuff.
I’ll try the vipbox.tv link you provided. And also check out NBC Sports on cable.
Watching on Speed now. Saw their earlier coverage (DVR). 2:32 to go.
Strange to see Flying Lizard in GT challenge.
episode 29 Enzo Ferrari & the Historic Race. The British Grand Prix in Silverstone

Well, that was interesting for the first race of the season.
BTW, did Hamilton spend the off season in prison? Right arm fully tattoo’d down to the hand. Looks like a thug.
Happy to see they grabbed David, Steve & Will. I was worried about NBC, but was impressed.
I hope Mercedes at least put a ‘no facial tattoos’ clause in his contract...he could damage the brand image...and those silly earstuds are bad enough as it is...faggotry.
Anyhow, go Kimi. Keep Vettel and Alonso honest.
Watched it on NBC Sports, which replaces Speed TV for US coverage.
Some of the same announcers, more commercials, better video quality in my opinion.
Fantastic first race for the season, if somewhat short on drama.
It looks like the new order may not be tilted so far towards Red Bull Infiniti.
Force India looking racy, McClaren seem to have a dog, Ferrari back challenging at the beginning of a season, and Kimi driving the tires off that Renault.
Good start to the season, but I agree, not the most exciting race.
i think Kimi has a good chance at it too
glad to see Kimi neuter the Bulls... 8^)
My son and I laughed when the new Varsha (don’t know his name) said, at about the 30th lap, “the race is on!”
Funny, I thought they had been racing for 30 laps already!
My son and I laughed when Diffey said, at about the 30th lap, the race is on!
Funny, I thought they had been racing for 30 laps already!
I find Diffey annoying, liked Varsha and sorry he didn’t migrate over with the other boys. Varsha was doing Sebring on Speed.
If F-1 broadcasting is gonna make it in the US they really need to grab DW and Larry Mac. Maybe Kenny Wallace in the pits.
Re: Making it in the US.
I look at that like when Speed shared some of the broadcast time with Fox.
They had to go back to the basic of basics. which annoyed the hell out of me.
Did you notice how they made Hobbs and Matchett put ties on (how could you not)? THAT must have been uncomfortable...
