I think it would be fun if they tiered it like European soccer leagues....
Take the best 13 teams, and play a 12-game schedule against all of the other teams. The Top-Four teams then enter a playoff to determine the champion.
The bottom three teams get demoted for the next season, and the top three teams from the “Second Division” get promoted.
If they do go the 64 team set-up (and I hope it does happen)I think an 8-team playoff works nice. The winners of the conference championship games get home games against the losers of their conference championship games in the 1st round, for example top seeded champion would host the lowest seed championship game loser. For the final 4, the 2 top seeds get home games. Championship game top seed gets to play at home. The money generated by this would be astronomical and would rival the basketball tournament.
