Pretty much says it all.
Link?
I see now, no link...
Probably a million to teach pottery painting and $26 million for Swiss bank accounts.
But to tell you the truth they’re both a waste of money...
Yeah - we don’t need to support training for precision flying, encourage espri de corps, project the professionalism of our military, or perform recruitment for our all-volunteer armed forces. None of that helps the nation......oh wait.

With the Pentagon facing $46 billion in mandatory spending cuts, the White House may try to use the sequester to argue for deeper cuts in military programs it has long wanted to scale back. According to The New York Times, President Barack Obama will visit Capitol Hill Tuesday to push for a deficit reduction deal that would replace across-the-board cuts with more targeted ones.
The “perfect American” stabs us in the back again...
Now the US Navy's Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor (SFTI) course (Top Gun) School is another story.
So they DON'T support training for precision flying, DON'T encourage espri de corps, DON'T project the professionalism of our military, but they DO perform recruitment for our all-volunteer armed forces?
My original response was to the previous one that thought the whole Blue Angels air show stuff was a waste. I'm on your side, pal....
There was an article on EIN News, which seems to have been removed. It still turns up on Google Search, but doesn’t go anywhere except to a bodyless headline.
Precision flying is taught at combat academies. Esprit de corps is instilled during basic training and throughout military service. Projecting professionalism is expected every day you wear the uniform.
Recruiting is done by recruiters.
The Blue Angels, Golden Knights, and the like are tremendous wastes of money.
The PUBLIC needs to see it, and that’s the whole point of the demonstrations.
No, the public doesn’t “need” to see it. If they do, let them buy tickets that defray the operational costs.
26.5 Million to test for lead, and 500k for snacks.
Hellz no, I paid for it once already!
It’s pretty bizarre that our government is spending money to teach foreigners how to practice their traditional arts. Maybe we need more funding to teach the Japanese how to make tea and the Italians how to make pasta.
I worked as a firefighter for 35 years and attended MANY demonstrations at schools and held MANY firehouse visits for kids and adults. The good will generated was priceless and I know for a fact that 4 kids ultimately became firefighters (recruiting?). Bean counters would accuse us of “wasting” fuel to drive over to a school for a public education event, but it paid dividends. Maybe we should have charged each kid $5 to climb on our rigs....hmmmm....
I was surprised to see the AF Thunderbirds at the Vegas Nascar race yesterday.
