Quite a trade, 630 Glocks, 14 submachine guns, and six grendae launchers, plus cash, to get 225 Sigs? Theres more to this story . . . Why does a civilian police department NEED 14 machine guns?
The rest of the civilian population doesnt need semi-automatic rifles so why would a civilian police department NEED fully automatic sub-machine guns?

The rest of the civilian population doesnt need semi-automatic rifles so why would a civilian police department NEED fully automatic sub-machine guns? Yea it stinks doesn't it. The NG Armory has theirs under tight lock and key in a vault. In my 55 plus years living in this area the City Of Knoxville has not had reasons to need or use such a weapon in the line of duty. The militarization of civilian Law Enforcement Agencies is getting way out of hand.
The Oak Ridge DOE/DOE plants nearby by is a different matter. Actually with recent security issues there the DOD should be the facilities responding security with active duty armed forces.
