Dumb, IMO. Those people must be completely unaware of the Greco/Roman mythology of Hephaestus/Vulcan.
Listening to Neil deGrasse Tyson on why he removed Pluto from the Solar system display at the Hayden Planetarium, his reasoning was that if Pluto was put in the same orbit as the Earth, it would "melt" away.
Why then, would any educated person want to associate such a property (assuming said moon is like Pluto) with the mythological blacksmith that worked with fire and iron?
