Did you catch that news segment last year where some Nihonjin scientists had recorded video of a fish some fisherman had caught in his net that had supposedly been extinct for tens of millions of years? They recorded as much video as they could along with plenty of measurements, then released it back into the ocean. Seriously.
You would think they might keep it. On the other hand, I guess they don’t want to be the ones to make it extinct if it really isn’t.
