TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- A former five-star recruit for Alabama was arrested for the second time in two days and was among four freshmen, all suspended Tuesday, who face charges of second-degree robbery or credit-card fraud stemming from Monday arrests.
Eddie Williams, who was also a safety in high school but did not play a down at his listed position as a receiver for Alabama in 2012, was first arrested Sunday on a charge of carrying a pistol without a license.
The Associated Press, citing court documents, reported linebacker Tyler Hayes, 18, also confessed to robbing the student, who was punched in the head and face and kicked in the ribs and back.
Williams said D.J. Pettway, 20, a defensive lineman, and Hayes waited in a nearby vehicle about an hour later while he knocked out and robbed another student.
The AP reported the first student said his Apple Macbook Pro was stolen from his backpack. Both suffered mild concussions, cuts on the face and heavy swelling and had their wallets taken, according to the documents.

The Bama Boosters are to blame, all their walking money went to the starters. They should have followed dear leaders example and spread the wealth.
I’m so glad this wasn’t a tattoo issue. Heck they might not be able to play in a bowl game and lose scholarships. That would be devastating... I’m sure reinstatement is just around the corner because these boys were just goofing.
The SEC is no better...this is a huge business people. Money runs these programs.
They were four and five star recruits, so I guess they were talented. But they are obviously too stupid to be at Bama. It makes room for other talented players with better character. The responses of other players and our recent players who have graduated and gone to the NFL are scathing.
My take is that these thugs were using drugs and had no money for their munchies. It is baffling that these athletes would blow such a great opportunity. I expect there might be some other players have consequences from this as well.

I’ve heard of the “Red Tide” but these guys robbed like a “Black Tide”. (Look up “black tide” as an oceanic phenomena and fish-killer).
With these 4 losers and Javon Martin, Obama could have had a basketball team.
A general definition I saw of second deree robbery is robbery by force, but without a weapon. The nature of the force would probably be taken into account in the formal charges.
First degree robbery is with a weapon.
