am I the only one who finds this sick and repulsive ???
No, you're not the only one. And I find it very upsetting that mothers who die during abortions (and this child was hardly wanted) are being used for the pro-life cause, because life comes from Jesus, but abortion only comes from the devil.

SHE was the victim? I don’t think so.

She died while killing a baby- and she was a victim??? And now the family takes refuge in Jesus’ name? Where were they to teach her not to sacrifice her child? My four year old knows not to kill others, that the baby in a mommy’s tummy is a child, and to never ever sacrifice her OWN child.

People are so sick and deranged to think they can screw around and screw around and THEN pretend that Jesus doesn’t mind at all.

Did they repent? DO they mourn the death of the child? Or only mourn the death of the child who was lucky enough to make it out of the womb?

You commit a mortal sin, and you get a Catholic funeral? This is so disgusting, I don’t have words.

What is with reporting that calls it 33 weeks. She was 8 months pregnant.

Baby murderers shouldn’t get Catholic funeral Masses.
I suppose she could have asked forgiveness before she died, but if not, she excommunicated herself by procuring an abortion.
Q. 1. Does the Catechism of the Catholic Church teach us anything about how a Catholic can be forgiven of the sin of abortion?

# 2272 Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae," [CIC, can. 1398] "by the very commission of the offense," [CIC, can. 1314] and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. [Cf. CIC, cann. 1323-1324] The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society. [1463] ...

Q. 2. What does that mean in simple English?

A. 2. It means that anyone who has an abortion, participates in an abortion, or supports an abortion, he or she, by the previously mentioned actions, is automatically excommunicated from the Catholic Church. (C.C.C. # 2273)

An atrocity on all levels!! This story leaves me sick and disgusted (I am writing this through a mother’s tears for that poor baby).

Even if she didn’t want the baby there are those out there who would have gladly taken her, damaged or not.

It’s a sick sick sick society that allows this.

“....am I the only one who finds this sick and repulsive ???”

It’s very peculiar.

I trust pro-lifers, but clearly there is some inside info being revealed here. I really have no comment on that, and I don’t doubt it, but it may not be general knowledge to this woman’s friends and even family.

But this is not uncommon, these women are told they are killing their children out of love, or some such messed up lie.

Well I’m going to shut up now, before I go on a full fledged rant.

cast the first stone.....you're hateful attitude is probably more despicable to God than this young woman's actions....

however, as horrible as it was going to be, it would have been better for this young woman with the support of her husband and her family to carry this baby to her birth, and then letting nature take its course...if the anomalies were that great, the baby would not have survived that long and there would be decent closure...

It's extremely sick and repulsive.

I just had a Catholic funeral mass for my mother. The Priest mentioned how she was now at peace and was in no more pain from all of her illnesses. If this Priest is honest, is he going to mention how she died killing her baby? Is he going to mention how Madison was murdered by her mother?

At 33 weeks she should have had a Caesarian and put the baby up for adoption. They could have done it under anesthesia and she could be done with the baby and not even have to see it if that was her sick decision. I have a friend who's baby suffocated and died in utero and when she found this out literally went crazy and had to deliver her daughter deceased. And this woman was walking around hanging out at a hotel during “stages” of the abortion? Did I read that right? Also have a friend who was told the baby likely had Down’s Syndrome, but would never consider abortion. Her baby was born just fine, and she was shocked the doctor had kept telling her to abort her “more then likely” down syndrome baby. Also have a cousin with a Down’s child. sweetest kid of the bunch!

This occurred in a Maryland suburb of DC and the local CBS affiliate actually reported it tonight after the Grammys.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeRoy_Carhart

“LeRoy Harrison Carhart (born 1941) is an American physician from Nebraska who became well known for his participation in the Supreme Court cases Stenberg v. Carhart and Gonzales v. Carhart, both of which dealt with intact dilation and extraction (colloquially known as partial birth abortion), a controversial abortion procedure.”

Apparently, this guy has had quite a history...all bad.

I wonder if that NY newspaper wouldn’t mind printing the names and addresses of those who’ve had abortions? Since they seem to keen on “public disclosure”—being all enlightened and such...

A Catholic priest was with her when she died. It should be the prayer of Catholics that she repented of this sin before she died and was able to make a good confession. She certainly had plenty of warning—this didn’t happen in a matter of seconds.

Sidewalk counselors warned her repeatedly about the dangers of this procedure as she went into and out of the abortuary.
