(Newser) – The new Nielsen/E-Poll survey of the most disliked athletes in America has the not-so-surprising name of Lance Armstrong at the top of the list, reports Forbes. More surprising is that Notre Dame star and soon-to-be-NFL'er Manti Te'o tied Armstrong with a measly 15% approval rating. Even if he was a hoax victim, Teo's fake girlfriend saga has taken a toll on his image.
- Worst three: After Armstrong and Te'o comes Tiger Woods, with a 19% appeal rating. It hasn't budged much since his scandal.
- Middle of pack: Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (21%), the Lakers' Metta World Peace (21%), Alex Rodriguez (22%), and Michael Vick (23%).
- Final three: NASCAR's Kurt Busch, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, and Dallas QB Tony Romo tied with 27%.

I’ve seen “hugh” and “series” used in this fashion, but using “looser” is a new one for me.

LOOSER: Comparative of "Loose", i.e. "I like my shoes
looser and not tighter."
LOSER: One who loses often or is a disreputable person, i.e. "He was found innocent of criminal charges but eventually was found liable in civil court, and was later convicted on unrelated charges in the state of Nevada because in post-NFL life he turned out to be a loser."

Barry Bonds isn’t on the list? Arrogant SOB was hated even before he roided up to look like a circus sideshow act. And it wasn’t because he is black, Al.
