At the same time, a person of predominantly Russian ancestry here is simply less likely to murder someone here than is a Russian in Russia.

Of you want to broaden the range, whites are less murderous here than they are in Europe as a whole, and blacks are less murderous here than they are in Africa as a whole (and, unless somebody can find a place with a lower murder rate than the US, I think we can say that about each and every country in Africa).

You are probably right. I haven’t studied that deeply but it is very likely if an enviroment makes one more or less violent.

Doesn’t that imply that all those murders were with firearms, when in fact they were not?
I don’t know - but if so, what of it?

Is murder OK unless committed with a repeating firearm?

You’re fine with being dismembered with a machete or necklaced - just as long as they don’t shoot you?
