“But a lot of us find filth and germs disgusting and unhealthful.”

One other thing...what you say is certainly true, but irrelevant. First, there is NOTHING that shows filth is unhealthful, unless you eat it. If you say my condition after a day of working on cars...you’d get the point that filth and health don’t go together (and no, I don’t usually shower before going to bed, unless my wife makes me).

Germs, yes, they are unhealthful, but I yet to catch a germ in the act. Unlike others, I don’t carry a Scanning Electron Microscope with me all places, so I doubt that I would see one attacking me. My point is that we have NO clue how these germs spread...for all we know we are born with them in us, and if we hit the right environment conditions, they can multiply and attack...that one I actually could believe based on my near-sick days.

Well, Dr Bob, you may have no idea how disease spreads, but those of us who have had some medical and public health training do. Apparently cars are your area of expertise, not biomedical research, so it might be wise to reserve your pronouncements about vectors of disease transmission. Be filthy if you like, but car grease is not the same as bacteria and viruses.
