The gore-bull warming alarmists fail to realze that the more we learn about the nature of the universe the more powerless in the face of nature we discover we are.
A sufficiently powerful Gamma Ray Buirst would make any perceived “gore-bull” warming look like a nice pleasant day at the beach for life on earth.

See what posting an interesting article gets you? Crap comments about global warming and islam.

N14 goes to C14 under neutron irradiation, and I thought the neutrons came from solar protons and some galactic cosmic ray interactions.
Would a gamma burst (photons) generate enough neutrons to increase C14 from N14 or O17?
I think a good alternative would be a series of extremely large solar flares.

A nearby short duration gamma-ray burst may be the cause...

This "scientific article" is very incomplete. I can find no data demonstrating the obvious fact that those gamma ray bursts were the fault of George W. Bush. Neither do I see any indication of the incontrovertible truth that these heartless capitalist gamma ray bursts cause the most lasting harm to women, children, members of federally recognized racial minorities, or gays, lesbians, and the transgendered.
I therefore must reject the implications of this article. The work was done at the University of Jena, which as everyone knows was visited by prominent NAZI Party officials.

If that happened, science also tells us we would all have super powers.
So I am saying no.

I was watching the Universe (on the science channel) and they indicated that at least one star is pointed at the Earth with the power to send a gamma ray burst when it goes nova.

It ws the beginning of the Little Ice Age which caused Cold Fusion, causing X-RAY`s to splatter all over Italy.
This event is preserved in the Italian oral tradition known as
THE BADA BADA BING.
