BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A firing range has announced the Burlington Police Department is not welcome to train at its facilities any longer.
Last week the Burlington City Council voted to ban semi-automatic rifles and large capacity magazines in the city limits.
The chairman of the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club explained in a letter that it cannot support the city with such a prejudice against the club, and has voted to suspend the city's use of the range for law enforcement officers.
Burlington Police Chief Michael Schirling says it will affect how and when officers train with their firearms. The weapons ban still needs to go before lawmakers and voters.
They should try Chicago.
The chairman can now expect to get a ticket every time he drives, might get some drugs planted in his house, and maybe his dog will catch some lead.
VT used to be a nice place, about 40 years ago.
North America used to be a better place before 1492.
Welcome to the USSA, comrade.
Those Mayans and Aztecs sure knew how to whoop it up.
As liberal as this state has become, I still have faith that we will not give in. If Vt. ever requires registration I expect the world will know by the sound of gunfire coming from this tiny place.
WTH is wrong with this country? Really? Have the low information voters taken over the rational, intelligent, educated voters? My God people the LEO’s need to practice their art. The leadership throughout this country continues to drink PPOS’s KoolAid dumbing itself downward on an hourly basis. Very sad.
Don't like it? You can always leave to find a better place...
LEOs that support gun bans really do need to practice their art, I agree.
Good.
Care to elaborate??
Completely concur from my vantage point here on the edge of ‘The Kingdom’.
“My God people the LEOs need to practice their art.”
Uh, yeah, about that...
“You civilians can’t be trusted. We want to take what is rightfully yours and leave with anemic tools for defending your pathetic lives. You are inferior to us. ...hey, whadayamean ‘get out of my shooting range’? Where will we practice our art?”
Idiots.
Kingdom area here, too.
We’re surrounded, that simplifies the problem. ;0)
I like the second half of that quote too.
Good for them. It’s about time our side started playing hardball. Just wish the Republicans would too. I’m afraid that they’ll “compromise” and screw us again.
