I don’t agree with their decision, but I do believe that someone who will lose both their most important senses should have some freedom in how they continue their lives also.
(Somewhat playing devil’s advocate here, I can respect a grown man not wanting to live another 40 years being a burden on their family or society in a way also)

That’s total lack of creativity to end life because one cannot, or rather, WILL not make the effort to find one’s purpose.
This is the lazy loser’s way out, no two ways about it.
