Speaking as a Browns fan...your guys had a great season.
I did the same when Obama won.
Me too after Pack loss yesterday. I’m like a stunned zombie.
Good to learn about sports disappointments early. There are many in life. I’m just bummed we won’t get to see Wilson again. I mean, what’s more boring than watching Matt Ryan play?
Same here =)
I was sort of pulling for SanFran and the Ravens, but my husband lost all of his games this weekend...every game was pretty competitive except the New England one...
Poor kid - Falcons did all they could to give the game away, too.
I was about 10 years older than her at the time, but I felt the exact same way Bills vs. Giants Superbowl XXV - Scott Norwood final kick - wide right. Tell her to look for it on youtube.
I lost all of my games, too. I have to say that they all were super games and most could have gone either way. I was watching on the edge of my seat for many of them. If only the actual Super Bowl could be as interesting. So many SBs have been yawners.
Seattle lost cuz:
The coach went for it on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal early in the game.
Coach calling a crappy play that ended up with a sack and running out of time in the 1st half - when they coulda gotten another field goal.
Coach calling a timeout on the last-second Atlanta kick [it went wide-right], giving Atlanta another kick [it sailed thru the uprights].
Just sayin’ ...
I react the same way every season. It’s hard being a Vikings fan...
I might have had a meltdown. But Notre Dame didn’t even show up to play, so there was really nothing to be upset about.
I almost wish they would have overturned the last Seahawks touchdown, so they could have run a little more time off the clock, or at least to force Atlanta to use up their timeouts.
I think it was a tie between Carroll and Fox for worst coaches of the weekend.
Atlanta scored more points.
Did you hear the one about Roethlisberger, Manning, Romo and Cutler walk into a bar?
Seattle area here - went to church this evening so as to watch the game this morning.
The preacher welcomed us and said something like,
“Welcome to worship, a time to fellowship with the Lord, and ask him the really big questions of life. Like why did the Seahawks have Marshan Lynch on the bench for 4th and 1? Why hire a field goal kicker if he doesn’t do any work? Etc.”
Nobody laughed.
That time-out at the last second Atlanta kick is going to give the coach nightmares for ever. If ever you’d want to live a last second over -———————
...survive and advance...GO FALCONS!!
WHY did Pete Carroll ask for a timeout when the kicker had already done his thing?
I'm no head coach in the NFL, but you NEVER give a kicker a second chance.
Stupid, and dangerous. Kickers "adjust" after an icing. And the Seahawks paid dearly.
as a Niners fan, i was torn on this game... i found myself tooting for both teams! the outcome ended up being what i first wanted.. Go NINERS!
As a Falcon fan, tell her the pain will ease.
The Falcons broke my heart by blowing a lead in a playoff game against the Cowboys in 1981.
Today made up for it so tell her it only hurts for 31 years. :)
I've seen it done to Bryant at least four times. And every time he is "iced", he goes through with his practice kick....even if the opposing team calls it much earlier than Seattle did today.
Really irks the other team when he does it....but so does being "iced".
When will they quit doing that?
It never seems to work and left Seattle with no time outs to get within field goal range. (But then again...Mike Smith should have waited until the clock ran to 3 seconds before calling HIS time out)
Stick w/your choices, cherry. You chose well.
That’s how I felt when I was 10 and I saw the refs steal the ‘84 OU-Texas game from the Sooners with several horrible calls; the ‘Horns managed a tie with a last second field goal.
LOLOL! A few ATL-area pings.
I know...right. Watching Ryan play qb is like watching paint dry....

It was real boring watching Ryan outduel Both Mannings...Brees...Romo..RG3...Vick...Stafford...Cam..and Rivers this season.
Boring as people use to say Joe Montana was.
Ha! Nicely done.
Have you seen the QB Facebook conversations that someone has been ginning up this year? A little long, but pretty funny.
http://profootballmock.com/category/nfl-qbs-on-facebook/
I’m sure they’ll be putting up a new on after this weekend. Language warning.
It’s what I do. :^)
The same people that say Ryan and Bama are boring...are just like the same folks who say a 2-1 pitchers duel in baseball is boring.
LOL
I hope Wilson gets Rookie of the Year. He deserves it. He didn’t come into the league as the next great franchise player. Luck and RG3 did. Wilson won the starting job the old fashioned way, on the field. He set all kinds of records this year for a rookie.
Remember that Seattle brought in Matt Flynn thinking he would be the starter.
Just tell her that things could be worse, she could be a Lions fan, like me.
Keep in mind that Matt Ryan was only a missed field goal away from pulling another "Matt Ryan" (great regular season, lose first round of the playoffs). We'll see how he does against a team that stomped on Aaron Rodgers and the Pack, a team that HAS won the Super Bowl.
Their last one was in 1994, when most of their current players were still in elementary school.
Watching the game officials weaving a protective cocoon around Tom Brady?
I was talking about the Packers.
Yeah, he must pay them off. No way he won those 17 playoff games on his own.
I didn’t say he was Montana...just that many called him boring too. Last time the miners came here for the playoffs...they lost.
I feared the Seahawks more than the niners ...Russell. is a much better qb...the hawks have a better secondary. Could be wrong...but.
Thanks for the vid- that’s the first time I’ve laughed in two days.
It’s always interesting that there just happens to be video camera set up and running in these situations.
Falcons? For 59 minutes I thought I was watching the Panthers.
He’s got the skills, and is the real deal unlike a lot of these running QBs that the media loves to puppet. The Falcons just seem to run out of gas in the playoffs. Maybe 4 times the charm.
The falcons ran into two sb champs and an nfc champ that just fell short in the sb the last three seasons.
That tends to happen in the playoffs. The eventual Super Bowl and conference champs beat everybody else.
2. I wish I saw this much emotion about stuff that matters.
He called it before the kick. It is a chicken $hit tactic that nearly ever team uses. I'm glad if finally bit someone in the ass.
