“Iran’s Red Crescent is prepared to help the victims in the US,” said Mahmoud Mozaffar, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization.
Question — Is the Iranian Red Crescent a PRIVATE charity like the Red Cross, or are they affiliated with the Iranian Government? (I’d be very surprise if the GOVERNMENT of Iran volunteered to help).
My guess is that nothing happens in Iran without an OK from the powers that be in Tehran. The irrationality of the Iranian government is greatly overestimated- everybody wants to make PR points.
