You might try a flock of heirloom turkeys.

And the goat milk makes great yogurt and cheese, and make some chedder cheese so it will last.

I have thought of adding Bourbon Reds or Jersey Buffs next year. Do you have turkeys and goats? What kind?

Our does won't be ready to breed until spring, and then probably only the Nigerian Dwarf will breed, the other two not till fall. So we are a ways off from having milk.
