After I graduated from college, got my first real job that became my career, and my first apartment that I wasn’t sharing with other roomates, I adopted my first cat. I remember how great it was to be financially independent. For that Father’s Day I bought a small pool table at Brookstone for my dad- he loved playing pool. It was about half the size of my parent’s kitchen table but you could really play pool on it.

That cat loved going for car rides and one weekend we visited mom and dad so I could get a real good home made meal, (mom being a better cook than me) and they could see their “grand cat”. As soon as kitty gets out of the carrier, she finds the pool table, jumps on it and starts playing. She was really good too.

She went to the Rainbow Bridge 10 years ago to this day. I’ve been thinking about her the last few days and am so happy this article was posted. My current cat isn’t athletic like this, but she is a demon with her Da Bird toy.

I'm glad I was able to bring back some good memories. It's always a little bittersweet - remembering passed pets. We have to keep in mind that dogs and cats are given a comparatively short life span, so we can just enjoy our time with them, do the best we can for them, and then move on when the time comes.
