At no point did I say it was a Southern issue, and I don't know why you think I'm a Yankee or that I'm sticking up for the methods by which northern schools were integrated.

One of my degrees was earned in Boston.

Boston, late 70s-80, was the most racist city in which I've ever lived.

However, none of us should pretend that the integration of public schools in Mississippi went off without significant issues. Of all states, Mississippi would be a case study in the problems with integrating public schools.

Your point is like saying some northern colleges resisted admitting black students. That's probably true. However, I don't recall that any of them involved 3,500 troops, 500 law enforcement officers, riots, and a student who required 24-hour protection from U.S. Marshalls.

I am just reporting on my childhood and the first integration days in Mississippi... with absolute honesty . I live in South Mississippi. This point is not negotiable. I was in the first generation of integration in Mississippi and I lived it and I am telling you that I NEVER WITNESSED ANY PROBLEMS. It wasn't until I had graduated from High School and then when the democrats started their crap... as they ALWAYS do... race problems occurred.

BTW... some of the black kids that I went to Junior High and High School with are customers and friends of mine today.

I was a Boy Scout as a kid... it was the best thing that ever happened to me and I support the Boy Scouts today and have friends that are Scoutmasters. GOD bless you for being one!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
