I like Spyhunter. It will scan for malwear and also does a registry scan. Any detected problems will be fixed. I also run Avast which scans much slower and requires a reboot of computer to fix. Spyhunter does not require a reboot.

How to kill a virus in your computer?

Fill your bsthtub with pure alcohol, and soak the computer in it for 3 minutes. Guaranteed - the virus won’t trouble that computer again!

Good anti-virus software is a must, but there are types of malware that they cannot necessarily detect or remove. I was running a very highly rated anti-virus program (not one of the free ones either) and noticed that Windows updates were not installing. I manually turned on the updates only to have them immediately shut down. I contacted tech support at Microsoft and they suspected I had malware on my computer and suggested running a malware /spyware remover. I ran the program they suggested and the program detected and removed several malware programs that my anti-virus had missed. The problem was then fixed. I have since run this malware remover periodically in addition to anti-virus scans. While Mac viruses are not common they do exist so even a Mac could get infected.
