I know that aircraft losses were high, and you are quite correct to point out that the loss of an aircraft did not equate with all hands KIA.
But the article implies that this is the case.
I agree. I think they may have meant that an accumulation of raids daily. I am not sure if they had multiple raids by several different air wings per day and that all together more than 100 planes where lost daily.
You are right, it is poorly written as to what they meant.
