That's a good point. I didn't even think of it, but anything that is touched by human hands can carry disease, which supports the idea of washing any fruits and vegetables gotten from the grocery store or farm stand.

When we grow our own, we also know what is in the soil, and whether or not pesticides or chemicals were used.

That lib George Lopez was doing an HBO comedy show in San Antonio, TX a few years ago and when on a rampage (not joking or funny by any means) about illegal pickers wiping their butts with veggies meant for gringos. The Texas board here was outraged. Since then he's been on my don't watch list but he did send the message home. Who knows what germs are on our store bought food.
