Yep, I’d have to agree, though I enjoy his work on almost every thing he’s done, even find some worth on A Momentary Lapse of Reason which to me seemed a bit too commerical or trendy even. I particularly like the intro to Sorrow on that one.
I’ve also really enjoyed some of his more recent work such as Marooned.
He is my all time favorite gituarist. Even though there are other highly skilled guitarists that I admire, such as Lindsay Buckingham, there is something about Daivd’s sometimes bluesy, often dark, kind of let your guitar do the singing style that has always reached me. To me he is an artist and a genius.
I also enjoyed when Dave toured with Pete Townshend in the mid-80s.....of course, Pete is no slouch on guitar, but even he knew he couldn’t hold a candle to Dave.
