I empathize with you fully; I lost a cat several months ago and was frantic to find her - posted “lost cat” posters around the neighborhood and contacted neighbors about her. She did come back a week later, chewed on a little (friends thought it was from the talons from a bird of prey) but okay.
I’ve learned since that cats will get spooked and hide for days on end, often within a hundred feet of their home, until hunger or thirst drive them back home. Don’t worry, this could apply to your beautiful kitty.
That happened to my sister-in-law a couple of weeks ago. Although they looked all over the property for her, they couldn’t find her, but a day later, they found her under a bush near the backdoor she escaped from.
